Improvement of the corrosion resistance of porous metallic materials used in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
Project is finished. It lasted from March 2012 to March 2014.
In 2011 I wrote a research proposal to the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education for the second edition of the Iuventus Plus programme. This special funding programme is intended for young researchers with a proven track of research backed by high impact publications. Title of my proposal was: "Improvement of the corrosion resistance of porous metallic materials used in solid oxide fuel cells". It has been accepted for funding and therefore my activities in the development of corrosion protection of porous alloys were continued. This is a very challenging and new topic of research with possible high impact in the near future.
Research group consisted of:
Prof. Piotr Jasinski
Katarzyna Dunst
Dr Jakub Karczewski
Paulina Łangowska
Sebastian Molin - Principal Investigator
Main goal of the project is presented in the picture:

Main goal of the project is presented in the picture:
After initial studies, even before the project was officially started, it was decided to exchange Inconel 600 to a better suited Inconel 625. It has higher chromium content and thus both Fe22Cr and IN625 would be better comparable.
